CRIRES Science Verification
The Science Verification (SV) of CRIRES is carried out following the same guidelines applied to all VLT instruments and summarised in the VLT Science Verification Policy and Procedures document.
CRIRES SV runs are interleaved with instrument commissioning and test activities, taking place between August 2006 and April 2007.
The CRIRES SV Team is chaired by J. Melnick and includes the following team members: H.-U. Kaeufl (INS), R. Siebenmorgen (INS), A. Smette (LSPO), M. Sterzik (LSPO), F. Primas (DMO), H. Sana (ESO Fellow Chile), A. Bik (ESO Fellow Garching), A. Seifahrt and S. Uttenthaler (ESO Students Garching).
Important Notes
S. Hubrig (LSPO) was involved in the preparation and execution of the observations that took place in August 2006 (first SV run). L. Tacconi-Garman (USD) took part in the October run (second SV run), as USD support and night astronomer. F. Kerber (INS) was involved in the preparation and execution of all three SV runs.

Additional Technical Data (Imaging)
During the commissioning of the AO module for CRIRES in April 2006, a technical imager provided sets of raw data available, mostly in Ks-band, sometimes as well in J- and H-band. These raw data having been acquired for technical purpose, they lack therefore some information usually provided for scientific imaging data and could therefore require additional effort to be processed.
A general description of the files is provided. The following objects were observed:
- Galilean satellites of Jupiter. Package IDs are 4357 for Io, 4356 for Europe, 4358 for Ganymede and 4355 for Callisto:
- the asteroid Hermione. Package Id is 4359
- the stars HD105196, HD104815 and HD85602, with respective package IDs 4352, 4353 and 4354
- the complex star-Nebula Frosty Leo. Package ID 4362.
