MUSE Wide-Field Mode

The first commissioning runs of the MUSE in Wide-Field Mode (WFM) were held from 14–19 June and 14–18 July 2017. During this commissioning, the emphasis was mainly on evaluating the ground-layer AO performance and several science spectra were acquired. Here is a list of the names of the targets observed during the 11-night period.

Access to the Commissioning Data

The MUSE WFM-AO commissioning data have been made available as a raw data package. The reduced data are being processed and the data cubes are being made available via the ESO Archive Science Portal as soon as they are ready. You can check on the availability using the corresponding target name.

If any of these data are used for publication, please acknowledge that the results are based on public data released from the MUSE WFM-AO commissioning observations at the VLT under Programme IDs 60.A-9100 runs G & H. See the recommended acknowledgement to be included in publications based on ESO data.

Note

A large fraction of these frames were taken during AO performance tests with a dedicated template alternating between opened and closed loop observations.
