IC 2944 Fulldome Video

IC 2944, an open cluster of stars with an associated nebula is seen here in this fulldome video. The nebula is what provides the brilliant pink hue which dominates the scene. It is hydrogen gas being ionised by the ultraviolet radiation produced by the young nearby stars that form the open cluster.
