Full disk of the Sun
This image of the full disk of the Sun was taken on December 18, 2015 by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly instrument (AIA) aboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory. The Atmospheric Imaging Assembly images the solar atmosphere in 10 different wavelengths every 10 seconds, with the goal of linking changes in the surface to interior changes.
